Great night in The Mercantile on Friday as a big crowd came in to get good value for their free entry and see three wonderful live acts in cosy quarters. Cloud Castle Lake kicked it all off with yet another performance of breathtaking beauty. The Lowly Knights followed with an energetic set that had the crowd eating out of their many hands. Grand Pocket Orchestra brought the crazy fun as you’d expect and, though they managed to restrain themselves from demolishing the Mercantile’s stage this time around, it was still a set brimming with high-speed joy. Like a 150cc Mario Kart race, their set is over all too soon. Full live report from Phil Udel is over on State with my photos while the DVD-only special feature extra behind-the-scenes bonus shots are on Flickr.
