Better late than never, apparently.
Finally letting my photos from the opening night of IMOCA see the harsh light of day. Despite the refrigerator-like temperatures in the building, it was a really good night. The Good Hatchery‘s piece The Solution (pictures below) was a real standout and I liked Jeco Sword’s piece too. I’m not sure who was responsible for the golf cart that was zooming around all night but it was fun, and I was told Mohammed Ali once drove it, which explains the bell… and the leopard print covers. The Monster Truck Art Swap, hosted by Paul Timoney in his own unique fashion, was great. Pretty good standard of work on offer too. I was paired with Sharon Murphy, so I was happy because her piece was one of my favourites. The less said about the after-shenanigans down in the Black Horse Inn (and back at the warehouse later), the better. The exhibition runs until April 18th, and the gallery is open 12 – 6pm Fri – Sun.
In honour of my first visit to the Gardiner Street Gospel Mass last night, here’s a Motown classic.
